If you are someone who absolutely needs a copier in their line of work in order to exist, and you have to be on the go for your work, you might want to look in to portable or handheld equipment to make your life just a little bit easier. If until now you have been mostly using the equipment that you can find at a location, let me tell you that there is something that can solve your problem. Having a handheld scanner is a lifesaver for most professionals that need this kind of equipment.

But it doesn’t end there. These portable scanners are much more than just scanners, and when you get one that has a built in memory, you can take scans of documents, photos and basically anything, even if it isn’t connected to your laptop. These are very useful for people who need to be on foot, or just away from their laptop and still need to do scans of things. A good application would be the bouncer of a nighclub – they could take scans of all the ID cards and passports that are presented to them to verify the age of the person entering the club. That way in case they would need it, or the police would need it, they would have a collection of all the people who were in there last night for example.

Mobile printers are pretty similar to portable scanners, but they usually are larger in size, and require a table to be used on. So you might want to keep it in your car or in your laptop case – don’t get me wrong, they still are pretty small in size and definitely can carry them with. Some of these machines are more useful than you would thing, and when you use them in conjunction with your laptop and scanner, you have yourself a copier!

All you have to do is scan the image, and print it. Because you are connected through a computer, you have the perfect opportunity to first see if the image is great, and you can even do some alterations in the colors. If you have a high resolution handheld scanner, you can get quite good images that you can then modify to make the colors better, take something out of the picture or add a watermark or something similar. These are perfect for professionals who need to make copies regularly and don’t want to waste paper with poor prints. You could even fit multiple scans on to one paper with some photo-editing.

Thanks to the advancements in the technology used in handheld scanners, you can usually find them to be sort of a wand shape that you just need to swipe across the area you are scanning. They have a motion sensor chip which will detect motion in the image that they are scanning, and they will arrange the pixels so that they will come out correctly in the file.
